Free professional development classes available

Orlando, Florida —

With unemployment hitting an all time high during the pandemic, many people have used this time to broaden their skills and make themselves more marketable in the workforce. WDBO spoke with Bud Hanson, Stetson University’s Executive Director of Professional and Corporate Education Program. He said some have wanted to grow in their chosen career fields, while others are using this as an opportunity to gain new skills and follow new career paths. Stetson University offers several non-degree programs through their Professional and Corporate Education Program that are designed for working adults. They are short in duration, but target a specific skill. He even told us there are a couple of online classes that they are offering for free right now-Personal Creativity and Creativity in Teams and Organizations. Each class takes about 4-5 hours to complete, but you will do that at your own pace. You have a year to complete each class, so you can do the whole class in one afternoon or do a little each day. You can also choose to enroll in one class or both-whatever you prefer. You will receive a certificate of completion from Stetson University and can count each class as 1/2 hour of continuing education credits. You will need to register for the free classes before the end of August.
