Did you know Florida has their own Avenger?
His name is Captain Citrus and he first appeared in ‘Avengers Assemble’ in 2014.
John Polk, also known as Captain Citrus, was a promotional character made by Marvel to help promote healthy living to young children.
True to his Florida roots, Polk gathers his powers from solar pods then harnesses the power of the sun to use that energy to make shields and blasts, much like the Green Lantern.
He also is a big fan of orange juice.
The Florida Department of Citrus paid $1 million dollars to Marvel Comics to help create the character and write a few comics featuring him and the Avengers.
