Florida Flurries: ‘Real’ artificial snow is coming to Apopka

Apopka, Fla. — Get ready for Florida Flurries!

The Apopka Voice reports that "real" artificial snow is coming to Apopka thanks to Global Technology Integrators, an Orlando company that provides simulated environments for military and law enforcement training.

The company has partnered with Australia-based Bucceri Snow Making to provide snowfalls in temperatures up to 100 degrees.

Florida Flurries will debut for one day at the Winter Wonderland Apopka Tree Lighting on December 6, where the public can take holiday photos the snow.

The companies first ticketed event will take place for two weekends in January.

The Apopka splash pad at Kit Land Nelson park will be filled with snow on the  weekends of January 16 and January 24.

Tickets will be sold for 45-minute sessions between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The cost is $35 per person or $120 for a family snow package.
