ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. —
Family members say they're looking for answers after 46-year-old Andrea Sheldon was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies in northeast Florida.
But the St. John's County Sheriff's office says Sheldon came out of her mobile home Saturday night and aimed a shotgun at four deputies responding to a call about a despondent man in the nearby woods.
Sheriff's spokesman Chuck Mulligan says Sheldon pointed the gun directly at one of the deputies and didn't follow commands to drop the weapon after deputies announced who they were.
Mulligan told the Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/IwShNu ) he did not know whether Sheldon fired a round. He says the case is under review by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Officials say none of the four deputies have been involved in a shooting before.
