Dollar Tree now sells ribeye steaks

Most people enjoy a nice steak dinner once in awhile. But opening your wallet to pay big bucks for a good cut of meat may hurt a little if you're on a budget. That's where the Dollar Tree comes in.

The retail store is now selling ribeye steaks for $1 each. According to KTRK-TV, the frozen, boneless beef steaks come pre-seasoned in a brine.

As sketchy as a steak from the Dollar Tree may sound, workers say they can't keep them in stock and many shoppers are giving the discount meat the thumbs up.

"I'm very shocked. It's better than I thought it would be, absolutely," said one taste tester.

But not every customer was impressed.

"My mom taught me if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

The steaks are from the brand Stampede, which is available in other major stores. The Dollar Tree steaks are just a smaller portion size.
