Disney has launched a website, SmallWorld50.com, to create a global sing-along for,``it's a small world,'' to mark 50 years since the theme park ride with the unforgettable tune opened at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City.
The site launched with a video of singers from 25 countries performing the song. On April 10, both Disneyland and Disney World will hold a live sing-along paired with sing-alongs recorded earlier in the day from other Disney parks.
The compilation will then air on "Good Morning America."
You can also be part of the chorus from your own home. The new website also invites people to submit videos of themselves singing the song. On the site, fans can also create virtual dolls to build a unique "avatar-like" figure.
Disney is donating $150,000 to UNICEF and another $1 for each video and doll posted or shared on the website or related social media, up to $100,000.
FACT: Did you know Disney does not capitalize 'it's a small world' because a photo of a sign for the ride from the 1964 world fair shows no capital letters were used then.
