Disney’s Epcot to be divided into four different lands

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. — Big changes are in store for Epcot where it two current lands will be ‘reimagined’ to become four neighborhoods.

The announcement came Sunday evening at the D23  Expo in California.

The new neighborhoods will be: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery.

Walt Disney World Today said, "These neighborhoods will be filled with new experiences rooted in authenticity and innovation that take you to new destinations, where the real is made fantastic in a celebration of curiosity, hands-on wonder and the magic of possibility."

World Showcase will remain mostly the same.

WDW says the area known for serving adult beverages will “continue to be a celebration of culture, cuisine, architecture and traditions – infused with new magic.”

That magic will happen on Cherry Tree Lane featuring Marry Poppins, in the United Kingdom Pavilion.

The area that is currently known as Future World will be transformed into three neighborhoods.

Spaceship Earth will remain at the center of what will become World Celebration, but the ride will get a makeover with new narration and music.

The entrance will be revamped with lush gardens and a new entertainment pavilion will be added.

World Nature will include The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilions but will also add a water attraction inspired by Moana.

Journey of Water, will take visitors down a trail and invite guests to play with water.

Science and technology will be the center of World Discovery.

A planetarium exhibit with a Guardians of the Galaxy theme will "explore the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth's galaxy and Xandar."

The attraction will also feature a story-telling coaster that rotates 360 degrees to focus your attention on the action and it will start in reverse.

The neighborhood will also feature a new restaurant Space 220 and a new Play! pavilion with games and activities.

The transformation will take several years, but visitors can see plans on display beginning October 1, 2019 in Epcot’s

Odyssey Events Pavilion.
