A woman dressed in a Walmart uniform to try and rob an employee at a Poinciana Walmart earlier this month, according to Osceola County sheriff's deputies.
Â
Investigators said the woman's uniform included an authentic-looking name tag and they have surveillance video of her, but they have not yet been able to find the woman.
Â
A worker at the Walmart Supercenter can be seen on surveillance video talking with the woman, who was standing on the other side of a counter.
Â
According to deputies, as the women talked, the woman opened up her handbag and revealed a gun inside.
Â
"At that point the employee screamed and the suspect fled and we are currently looking for the suspect at this time," said Twis Lizasuain with the sheriff's office.
Â
Surveillance cameras in the parking lot caught the suspect leaving in a black four-door car, but surveillance cameras did not catch the attempted robbery in progress. Investigators said it happened just out of sight of the cameras near the store's money center.
Â
Deputies think the woman wanted to steal cash the employee was counting.
Â
Deputies don't know if the woman ever worked for Walmart. The name tag on the uniform she wore had the name Rena.
Â
Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
