Longwood, Fla. — Deputies in Longwood have arrested a man reportedly involved in a shooting that happened in the area of State Road 434 and Powell Street.
On July 14th at 9:34pm, officers responded to an unnamed business in reference to a witness who saw two people shooting at each other in the parking lot. Officers found shell casings laying throughout the parking lot, along with blood. Another witness allowed officers to review surveillance footage of the incident.
The shooting resulted in the death of Richard Javier. According to a press release, investigators learned that the shooting happened during an illegal drug transaction.
After developing probable cause, deputies arrested 51 year old Anthony Gilberry Gonzalez. Gonazlez has been charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of Richard Javier and additional drug related charges and has been booked into the Seminole County Correctional Facility.
