Family escapes early morning house fire in Seminole County

LAKE MARY, Fla. — Fire damaged a home in Lake Mary early Monday.

Around 4:30 a.m., crews from Lake Mary and Seminole County fire departments rushed to the house along Short Street.

That’s not far from the intersection of Lake Mary Boulevard and Country Club Road.

Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the home.

Two adults, two teenagers, a cat, and a dog made it to safety, a spokesperson for Lake Mary Fire Department said.

Unfortunately, another dog died in the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.

The State Fire Marshal is looking into the cause of the fire.
