TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A chain of urgent care clinics started by Florida Gov. Rick Scott is changing its name.

Solantic announced this week that it's jettisoning the name it has had since Scott helped start the clinics more than a decade ago.

A release from the company says that by October, all 29 clinics in the state will be renamed CareSpot Express Healthcare. Company CEO Mike Klein says the change is part of a "new vision" and "new brand" for the company.

Scott sold his interest in the chain last year after he was criticized for potential conflict of interest. Scott's shares were bought by the New York investment firm of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.

Last year the company moved part of its corporate headquarters from Jacksonville to Nashville.
