Home surveillance cameras are being used more and more by homeowners fed up with property crimes.
Police love them because they are often very helpful in the investigation of a crime, even if the camera footage comes from a home not directly connected to the crime itself.
That appears to be the case in this home surveillance footage from a neighborhood in Tacoma, Washington.
It shows a car burglar moving from vehicle to vehicle down a residential street.
The man grabs at several door handles before he walks out of the frame. Â Moments later, he's seen running in the opposite direction as another man chases him. Â The man doing the chasing is later seen dragging the car burglar back to the scene of an attempted break-in.
Liveleak reports the man in the video is a resident whose car was broken into just a few weeks before this video was shot.
The police are called in and the man, identified as Alex Leeper, is taken into custody.
