While you relaxed over the weekend, the non-profit We Build the Wall Inc. completed a section of border wall on private property near El Paso. You might recall this is the group started by Air Force veteran and triple amputee Brian Kolfage, who raised over 20 million dollars using a Go Fund Me page. This section cost six million dollars.
The group spokesman Kris Kobach says they started here because of a “ridiculously large gap” near Mount Cristo Rey.
Kobach says up to 930 illegal immigrants cross into the U.S. everyday from this gap and it’s often used by drug smugglers. This is the first section the group built but a second is on the way. Kobach is appealing for more donations, saying their average donation is 67 dollars.
