All eight Bojangles' restaurants in Central Florida closed Sunday afternoon, less than three weeks before Christmas, the company said.
The restaurants, which were shuttered at 4 p.m., are located in Orlando, Winter Garden, Oviedo, Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Saint Cloud and Leesburg.
"These restaurants are owned and operated by a franchisee under license agreements," said Brian Little, a company spokesman. "Our franchisee has a long history in real estate development and has informed us of his intention to turn his focus and resources toward that business and to leave the restaurant business."
The company has stores in Jacksonville and Orange Park.
The franchisee couldn't be reached for comment.
