An Orange County judge sentenced Bessman Okafor, 30, to death for killing a trial witness during a 2012 home invasion in Ocoee.
Alez Zaldivar and two others were dragged out of beds in their Ocoee home, forced to lie on a floor and were then shot.
Okafor did not show emotion when Circuit Judge John Kest sentenced him Monday afternoon.
"What can be greater evidence of the coldness of the acts than to tell the victims who are lying on the floor helpless that someone is going to die tonight," said Kest.
Okafor was found guilty in August of first-degree murder in the Zaldivar shooting and the attempted murders of the two others. The jury recommended the death penalty as punishment.
Prosecutors said Okafor killed Zaldivar, 19, to keep him from testifying against him in a home invasion.
Jurors also found Okafor guilty of two counts of attempted first-degree murder in the shootings of Brienna Campos and her brother Remington Campos.
Emmanuel Wallace and Donnell Godfrey were both found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison for their part in the shootings. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty in their cases.
