Armed robbery suspect taken down by K-9 deputy

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - A Mexican grocery store was the target of an armed robbery Thursday evening near downtown Winter Garden.

Orange County deputies said the suspect, 30-year-old Emmanuel Henriquez Vidal, entered the La Zapatilla (Tapatia) Grocery Store on E. Story Road at about 6:40 p.m.

An arrest report says Vidal then pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect cash and the suspect ran from the store.

Orange County Patrol Units and Winter Garden Police Units responded to the scene and established a perimeter. An Orange County K-9 captured Vidal a short time later with a dog bite.

The money and weapon were recovered.

Vidal was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon and mask.
