The calendar says it's spring, but it feels like winter in central Florida. WFTV meteorologist George Waldenberger said area residents can expect two mornings of record cold ahead.
Wednesday morning temperatures will dip into the upper 30s and low 40s across the metro-Orlando area.
Freeze warnings are in place for the northwestern zones, Marion and Sumter counties.
"While winds weaken Wednesday morning there will still be enough of a breeze to drop wind chills into the low 30s," said Waldenberger.
Freezing temperatures are mainly going to be a threat for our far northwestern zones in Marion and isolated pockets around northern Lake and Sumter Counties.
"With dry air and light breezes, frost formation is most likely in pockets sheltered from the wind north and west of Orlando. However, isolated spots of frost cannot be ruled out in and around the metro by morning," said Waldenberger.
Central Florida will get one more morning like this on Thursday and then temperatures will begin to warm back up.
