PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — A man is recovering after a 10-foot alligator bit off his arm.
Jordan Rivera, 23, said he was at a bar in Port Charlotte when he went out back to a pond.
He said the next thing he remembers is waking up in the hospital without his right arm.
Luckily, the other patrons at the bar rushed to get him out of the water and put a tourniquet on his arm.
“Confusion. I was like ‘whoa,’” Rivera said. “Because, I just woke up and I was just sitting here It kind of feels like my arm is just there, but not there.”
The Florida Wildlife Commission said the animal was captured and killed, which is typical when it comes to gator bites.
