Link: Track the latest Starlink satellites using CelesTrak.com

Earth’s Orbit — SpaceX successfully sent another 60 satellites into Orbit Monday bringing the total number in the Starlink Constellation to 180.

The goal of the network is to provide internet access to the world and SpaceX founder, Elon Musk, says he needs at least 400 satellites to provide minimal coverage.

He says at least 800 of the 485 pound machines are needed to offer moderate coverage.

If you ever wanted to see where those satellites are orbting - you can.

A website called CelesTrak-Orbit Visualization follows all of the satellites in orbit.

At first glance,  the Earth looks like its covered in red, green and yellow mumps which move periodically.

But there is more, you can actually choose a satellite and follow its orbit, you can zoom in to see exactly where it is above  Earth and zoom out to see the full circle around the globe.

There is a 3D, 2D or 2.5D option to give you full perspective, plus you can choose to see the atmosphere or light.

The site is operated by the Space Data Center which is now under the U. S. Space Force, it uses the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) SGP4/SDP4 tracking system.

Yes, the same NORAD which tracks Santa's progress each year.

It is a bit technical and you need to brush up on your satellite names to know exactly what you are looking at, but even the average Joe can appreciate a view of what’s flying over our heads.
