Florida’s AG files lawsuit against local moving company; how to protect your next move

(WSOC)

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is taking legal action against a Florida moving company.

Moody says Gold Standard Moving and Storage and its affiliates have deceived more than 400 of its customers in Florida.

She says the company hired third parties that didn’t do the job well, then refused to give refunds.

Moody said: “The defendants promised top-quality moving services, but instead provided shoddy work, higher-than-advertised prices and loads of headaches for people simply trying to relocate. We are taking legal action to shut down this moving scam and recover funds for the hundreds of consumers harmed by this company’s deceptive practices.”

The company has also changed its name multiple times to void bad reviews, according to Moody.

The other affiliates are Executive Van Lines, Imperial Moving Group, National American Van Lines, Razor Van Lines, Simple Path Moving, Spartan Moving and Storage, United American Moving, and US Pro Moving and Logistics.

If you or someone you know plan to move soon, Moody’s office has resources to avoid being taken advantage of. You can find the information on the attorney general’s website here.
