A Tampa man out for a walk with his dog on the beach discovered what he calls a clean-cut shark head and fins.
David Schur told NBC affiliate WFLA-TV he saw the objects while walking in a secluded section of a dog beach Sunday near the Davis Island area of Tampa.
He snapped several photos of the shark parts and sent them to his wife who suggested they may have been cut off.
How did this #shark head end up washed ashore by the dog beach on Davis Islands?

It’s the question a South #Tampa man is asking after making this discovery Sunday and sending this photo to 8 On Your Side. @WFLA has contacted @MyFWC.https://t.co/FaFqKhcQDS pic.twitter.com/HpNJGy8K6q
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has guidelines on its website regarding sharks.
It says all sharks are “required to remain in whole condition until landed,” but “gilling and evisceration while on waters or in a fishing location is allowed.”
