Workout developed in prison is popular during COVID-19 pandemic

The ConBody workout focuses on what you can do with only your body weight in a small contained space and it has become quite popular during the COVID-19 or coronavirus quarantine.

Founder Coss Marte went to prison for seven years on drug charges and needed to loose weight.

While behind bars he developed a fitness regimen that works in a 9’x6’ area and he lost 70 pounds in six month.

Marte told USA Today he started his bootcamp type fitness program called Coss Athletics  after his release.

You might not want to do the exact daily routine that Marte did in prison which included 1,200 push-ups and 1,000 burpees.

He also used his cell mates weight as an obstacle - for example doing squats or push-ups while carrying the full weight of the other person.

But, Marte told USA Today he recommends five exercises for those quarantined at home:

1. Jumping jacks.

2. Squat jacks.

3. Mountain Climbers

4. Flutter kicks

5. Isometrics such as  planks or wall squats for 30 to 45 seconds.

He says to do them then repeat over and over ( most of his workouts are about 23 minutes.)
