Man injured following samurai sword attack

WALTERBORO, S.C. — A man is recovering in South Carolina after he was injured in a sword attack earlier this week.

Colleton County Fire-Rescue and the Walterboro Police Department were called to a house on Chaplin Street in Walterboro just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a man who was injured in a sword attack, according to WSB-TV.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they located the man and determined that he had a serious head injury, the news outlet reported.

Colleton County Fire-Rescue said in a statement that the man had multiple deep cuts to his head and was then transported to an area hospital.

Fire officials said the man was reportedly involved in some kind of altercation that led to the sword attack.

Police said the suspect had attacked the man with “a samurai-style sword,” WSB-TV reported.

Information about any arrests has not been released.
