SpaceX hopes to launch more Starlink Satellites on Mother’s Day

Cape Canaveral, Fla. — If things go as planned, perhaps you can join mom for a early morning watch of a rocket launch on Mother’s Day this year.

SpaceX has scheduled a liftoff at 2:42 a.m. Sunday for its 27th batch of Starlink Satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This will send 60 more satellites to join more than a thousand others in a low Earth orbit, which aims to create a global broadband internet network. After the stage separation, the Falcon 9′s first stage will land on the " Just Read the Instructions” droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.

Right now, there is 80 percent favorable weather conditions for launch, but if things don’t go as planned, there is a backup window on Monday, May 10th at 2:21 a.m.

You can see the launch live once it happens here.
