Orlando, Fla — Sneaker and apparel brand Adidas is facing a firestorm of criticism for it's attempt at creating a special shoe in Honor of Black History Month.
Apparel companies are no stranger to controversy when it comes to certain causes and cultural events, but the Adidas mostly-white version of the “Ultra Boost Uncaged” sneaker is an epic failure.
Read that again and think about it, a mostly-white sneaker to honor Black History Month named “Uncaged.” You can't make this stuff up and not only did some marketing genius come up with this cool cultural sneaker, a bunch of other high paid executives approved it.
A swing and a miss, @adidas. FYI: Try consulting with actual Black people first. I hear they’re all over the country. 😜 😂#NoShade https://t.co/iYHcHUcVDo

The shoe was scheduled to be released on February 5th but Adidas pulled the sneaker days before its release due to the social media and public response.
