NASA’s Voyager probes have been exploring the cosmos for nearly 45 years - but soon they’ll begin the process of shutting down.
With their power leveling slowly falling, NASA plans to start shutting off certain systems to keep the probes going for as long as possible.
Voyager 1 and 2 were launched in the 1970′s and have traveled to the farthest edges of the solar system.
The most astonishing part? Both probes were only intended to operate for 4 years. Instead, it’s been over 44 and counting.
The two #Voyager probes, the most distant human-made objects in the universe, will soon begin the process of shutting down. https://t.co/rwUzDzWKNO
