ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers in Orange County are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a deadly crash Monday morning.
10 a.m. update:
A 76-year-old Orlando man died Monday morning after being struck by multiple vehicles on State Road 535 in Orange County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The crash occurred at 6:04 a.m. near Palm Parkway and involved a hit-and-run driver who drove away from the scene.
State troopers reported that the pedestrian was walking westerly across the southbound lanes of State Road 535 outside of a marked crosswalk.
He walked into the direct path of a southbound 2015 Nissan Altima traveling in the outside lane.
The front right side of the Altima struck the man, propelling him into the outside lane where additional vehicles hit him.
Following the initial impact, a southbound 2013 Nissan Cube ran over the pedestrian with its undercarriage.
The driver of the Nissan Cube initially continued traveling southbound but later returned to the crash site.
The driver of the Altima told troopers that a third vehicle, described as a possible white SUV, also struck the pedestrian in the outside lane before driving away southbound.
The identity of the third vehicle’s driver remains unknown and the exact level of involvement of the vehicle is subject to an ongoing investigation by state troopers.
First responders transported the pedestrian to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers ask anyone with information regarding the crash or the third vehicle to contact the agency at *347 or call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

A deadly crash shut down part of a major Central Florida roadway Monday morning.
The crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of S. Apopka Vineland Road and Palm Parkway.
The crash shut down the northbound lanes of S. Apopka Vineland Road as troopers investigated the crash.
It’s unclear how many vehicles were involved and how many people were hurt in the crash.
Drivers can use World Center Drive as an alternate route.
