ORLANDO, Fla. — Tuesday marks a major milestone at Orlando International Airport.
The new $3 billion terminal, Terminal C, will open with 15 gates for domestic and international fights.
Channel 9 got an early look inside the new terminal back in April.
It will house 10 automated screening lanes at TSA checkpoints. The typical TSA checkpoint can handle 150 passengers per hour – these new ones can take up to as many 250 passengers.
There will be 15 gates inside the new terminal ready for domestic and international flights, and it can handle up to 20 aircraft.
Terminal C is expected to serve an additional 10 to 12 million travelers a year.
Another huge change jetsetters can expect: how they get their luggage. It will stay on one level and won’t have to be transported on carts across airport property.
Eight other airlines will soon be added to Terminal C.
