ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 26-year-old man is in jail after shooting at a woman on the fourth floor of the Orange County Courthouse parking garage.
Deputies said Kenneth Logan Jr. fired two shots at the woman around 11:30 Wednesday morning, then took off. He was taken into custody later that evening.
Ellie Crossman was at the courthouse on Thursday, a day after the shooting.
“I needed to come here yesterday, but I didn’t, and I was like ‘good thing I didn’t,’” Crossman said. “When you have someone shooting people at the garage of the courthouse, it’s a pretty big fricken deal. Like, how did that not get caught five steps before that?”

In an emailed response, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said: “At all times (both during and after business hours), the Orlando Police Department is responsible for the multistory parking garage north of the courthouse complex and the parking loop at the front of the courthouse property on Orange Avenue.”
The City of Orlando, also in an emailed response, said: “Orange County is responsible for security, including CCTVs at the courthouse garage.”
Channel 9 reached out to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court for more clarity, and a spokesperson directed questions to OPD and OCSO, but added: “...as the facts surrounding yesterday’s incident unfold, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orlando Police Department will assess and address any security issues within the bounds of Florida law.”
Logan now faces nine charges, including attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, armed burglary, false imprisonment with a weapon, and aggravated stalking. He appeared before a judge on Thursday morning and was not granted bond.
