Sanford firefighter appears to be in video during U.S. Capitol raid

Sanford, Fla. — There is new information about a Sanford firefighter that was reportedly involved in the mob that breached the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Cell phone video obtained by the Orlando Sentinel shows what appears to be a first person perspective of Andrew Williams, a paramedic out of Station 38 who has reportedly been on the job since 2016. On top of the video, there is also pictures on social media that show Williams pointing up at the sign of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In an email, leaders with the department said " We were given the videos and they are part of the investigation.”

On Thursday, the Sanford Fire Department released a statement, saying the administrative investigation “will look into all aspects of the nature of the photograph and will address any City policy and/or law violations that could possibly arise throughout the investigation. Firefighter/Paramedic Williams has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.”
