OSCEOLA, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred on Oct 4 that involved a train and a pedestrian in Osceola County.
According to troopers, the train was traveling northbound on the railroad tracks just west of Michigan Avenue, approaching Garden Street.
A male pedestrian was walking north inside the train, directly in its path.
As a result, the train struck the pedestrian despite the conductor’s efforts to avoid him.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.
The conductor was not transported to the hospital and remained on the scene.
The pedestrian’s identity will be provided to FHP after the medical examiner confirms it.
