TV installer charged with battery, indecent exposure after customer's 911 call

A Volusia County woman said she was attacked by a man sent to her home to install satellite TV.

The woman told police that Martin Roque, a DirectTV subcontractor, offered her a massage and then held her against her will.

The man told police the woman wanted a massage and that the exchange was consensual.

The 29-year-old woman claims Roque, 47, was aggressive and alleges that he put his hands on her.

"She's saying that he grabbed her and held her against her will for a brief time, then exposed himself to her," said Eugene Griffith, with the New Smyrna Beach Police Department.

According to police, the woman said that during a conversation with Roque she said she had some back pain. She said he claimed he was a part-time masseuse and knew some tricks to relieve her pain. She said he even asked if she had baby oil.

Police said there are two sides to the story.

"She's claiming the contact was nonconsensual and he's claiming that it was consensual," said Griffith.

Officials said Roque gave them a different account that also involved a massage.

"As he got the baby oil or the hand cream ready, that she made a call to her boyfriend and she then told him, 'No, I do not want a massage, my boyfriend is too close,' and that he then left," said Griffith.

Police arrested Roque.

"Based on our investigation yesterday we felt there was probable cause to make an arrest for him for simple battery and indecent exposure," said Griffith.

Roque has bonded out of jail.
