Heatwave continues through Sunday with highs reaching the upper 90s

CENTRAL FLA — Our heatwave continued Saturday, and more hot weather is ahead to close out the weekend.

The widely scattered showers and storms will fade away this evening, with quiet conditions overnight. Morning lows will be in the upper 70s.

More heat is ahead for Sunday. Even drier air pushes into the region, with just isolated PM showers expected. Highs will soar into the upper 90s, with feels-like temps above 105°.

The heat spell marches on, starting next week. We’ll see mostly dry conditions again on Monday, with temps in the upper 90s.

Rain and storm chances are expected to increase for the middle of next week. Expect more scattered PM storms Tuesday and Wednesday, with temps in the mid to upper 90s.

The moisture may linger into the back end of next week, ending the heatwave and bringing more showers and storms to the region.
