ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will once again be under a heat advisory on Thursday, but there is a sign of relief on the way.
The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, expiring one hour earlier than the advisories issued over the past nine days.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across Central Florida on Thursday, bringing more cloud cover and helping temperatures and heat levels come down later in the day.
The threat for rain and storms will remain elevated through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
As temperatures gradually fall a few more degrees, the oppressive heat we’ve experienced recently will begin to ease.
By the weekend, afternoon highs are expected to settle into the low 90s.
With the combination of cooler temperatures and increased rain chances, heat advisories likely won’t be needed.
The forecast is trending in a more comfortable direction, and the rain will play a big role in getting us there.
