Florida House District 9
Incumbent Democrat Congressman Darren Soto holds a narrow lead over challenger Republican Dan Green, which has still not been called, according to Associated Press.
Soto has 0.6% lead over Green with 99% expected votes in — a difference of just 1,477 votes.
Soto has the majority in Osceola and parts of Orange County, but Green currently leads in Indian River, Polk, Okeechobee, Glades and Highlands counties.
Florida Republicans redrew the district boundaries in April to include the Republican-leaning counties, growing the district three times its previous size.
A machine recount occurs when the margin is less than or equal to 0.5% total votes for office. If the machine recount returns a margin of defeat less than or equal to 0.25% of total votes, a manual recount of over/under votes occurs, according to the Florida Division of Elections.

Osceola School Board Referendum
The county voted to approve the property tax referendum that would add 1 mill for four years, or $1 for every $1,000 of taxable property value to support local schools.
District officials estimate the additional millage will generate about $65 million annually for educational programs, staffing and other district priorities.
