ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will kick off the first full day of fall with another round of typical summer weather before a change in the pattern brings cooler, drier conditions to the area.
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are expected Wednesday as summer-like conditions continue.
The pattern will begin to change Thursday when a cold front moves into Central Florida.
While the front will bring additional scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, it will not have the strength typically associated with a fall or winter cold front.
Drier air will follow the front and settle over the region through the weekend.
A few coastal showers will still be possible Saturday and Sunday, but overall conditions will be noticeably drier.
Temperatures will also begin to feel more fall-like behind the front.
Afternoon highs will drop into the mid-80s across Central Florida, while morning lows Saturday and Sunday could fall into the upper 60s for most of the region.
The cooler temperatures are expected to stick around into the beginning of the next workweek, offering Central Florida a taste of fall after the recent stretch of summer-like weather.
