A man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in a parking garage at the Hyatt Regency Orlando hotel on International Drive, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Cedilien Forestal, 49, was found shot to death in his vehicle shortly after 5 p.m., said Jane Watrel, an OCSO spokeswoman.
The hotel employee was found on the fifth floor of the seven-story parking garage.
"The garage is a controlled-access facility for guests and employees," Watrel said. "The fifth floor of the garage is for Hyatt employees and vendors only."
Deputies pulled over the suspect, Mathnald Dareus, 37, three miles from the hotel.
"Homicide detectives believe that this was not a random act of violence," Watrel said. "A motive is not being released at this time."
Dareus is being questioned at the Sheriff's Office, she said.
The hotel is patrolled by unarmed security guards and off-duty sheriff's deputies.
"Earlier this year, we instituted a lot of extra patrols here on I-Drive because there had been some crime," Watrel said.
The hotel sits across from the Orange County Convention Center, in the heart of the city's tourism district. It was previously named The Peabody Orlando.
No other information was released.
