ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was killed and three other people were seriously injured in a crash on East Colonial Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 10:28 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Colonial Drive and Sherman Street.
Troopers said a 37-year-old Orlando woman was stopped in a 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer facing west in a left-turn lane.
As she attempted to turn left onto Sherman Street, the SUV entered the path of an eastbound 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, according to FHP.
The front of the Mercedes struck the right side of the Trailblazer, causing the SUV to overturn.
The Trailblazer driver, the 21-year-old Mercedes driver and two male passengers, ages 16 and 19, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The woman driving the Trailblazer was pronounced dead. The Mercedes driver and both passengers suffered serious injuries.
All four people involved were from Orlando. FHP’s report indicated that none of them was wearing a seat belt.
All eastbound lanes of East Colonial Drive were closed during the investigation.
Troopers have not released the names of those involved. The crash remains under investigation.
