Christmas 2020 is among the coldest ones on record in Central Florida

Orlando, Fla. — 2020 is certainly a year to remember in the history books, and another addition to this year’s history is how cold its been this past Christmas.

In 2020, the Christmas weather topped off with an afternoon high at 53 degrees, which ties it with the same high reached back in 1995. Among the many cold Christmases Florida has had, the top 2 coldest ones on record is 36 degrees back in 1983, and 49 degrees back in 1961. Fun fact: the records can be traced back all the way to 1892.

However, the earliest year on record that made it among the top coldest ones was in 1906, with 51 degrees. Just in case you were wondering, here is the list of the other coldest Christmases here in Florida so far:
