Byron Donalds wins Republican primary for Florida governor

ORLANDO, Fla. — Byron Donalds has won the Republican nomination for Florida governor, according to The Associated Press.

With 92% of the expected vote counted, Byron Donalds received 47.9% of the vote. Jay Collins received 25.1%.

Florida is electing a new governor because Gov. Ron DeSantis cannot seek a third consecutive term.

Byron Donalds will face David Jolly and other qualified candidates in the Nov. 3 general election.
