BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 54-year-old Palm Bay man was arrested Friday night after allegedly threatening a judge through email messages, according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
Michael Barnard faces charges of corruption by threats against a public servant and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
Ivey outlined the case in a Facebook post, stating that Barnard was dissatisfied with a recent legal decision. Ivey said Barnard sent two emails to the judge, telling her that she had made several poor decisions and stating that he was coming for her.
In an alleged email released by authorities, Barnard demanded that the judge overturn a recent court decision. “I highly suggest you start by dismissing your temp order. Then push for clarity in my other case and hope God has mercy,” Barnard wrote.
Law enforcement agents subsequently responded to Barnard’s Palm Bay residence to address the email messages and execute his arrest.
