2 tropical disturbances are being monitored this weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Atlantic tropics remain active as we approach the peak of the season.

The system that had been known as Cristobal is no more, while two other areas of interest are being monitored as we head into the weekend.

Invest 92L is moving into an environment that will make tropical development increasingly difficult. Its chances of development have dropped to 20%.

Invest 94L has the better opportunity of the two to organize. There is a 50% chance it could develop into a tropical depression later Friday or sometime this weekend.

Despite the potential for development, neither system is expected to threaten Central Florida.

We will continue to monitor both areas through the upcoming weekend for any changes.

If another storm does form, the next name on the Atlantic hurricane season list is Dolly.
