Judge rules Amazon violated labor laws with anti-union efforts

A federal judge has ruled that Amazon broke U.S. labor laws with its efforts to stop workers from unionizing.

The case centered around last year’s unionization vote at two warehouses in Staten Island, NY.

Some of the illegal actions include threatening to withhold raises from workers who voted to unionize, and removing posts about the union vote on a digital message board.

Several other accusations were dismissed.

The judge ruled that Amazon must stop its unfair practices and post a notice that it would not use them.

One of the two warehouses voted to unionize last spring, while the other voted against it.
