South Florida — The video is tough to watch!
It shows a group of children torturing an iguana on a playground.
First what appears to be a teenager uses a shopping cart to run the reptile over, then a ball is thrown at its head.
A smaller child then stomps on it.
Who let those kids torture that iguana 🤧😤

The video goes on to show the iguana inside the shopping cart which is crashed into the ground.
Then a teenager picks up the cart and smashes it on top of the iguana.
One of the kids picks up its tail and holds it as it continues to move.
CAUTION: video may be hard to watch. KNOW THESE GUYS? @MyFWC is investigating video of a live iguana being tortured. Authorities encourage residents to humanely euthanize the animal but this is NOT what they had in mind. More @WPLGLocal10 #animalabuse #southflorida #fwc #iguana pic.twitter.com/HlDvsP3NFu

The video shared by WPLG comes after Florida officials had to clarify a message sent earlier in July that encouraged the public to kill the invasive species.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it is investigating the incident.
"This is despicable behavior, and we do not tolerate animal cruelty," said Eric Sutton, executive director of the FWC.
