People on their lunch break might have found themselves with a couple less things to scroll through Wednesday afternoon after Facebook and Instagram went down for a period of time.

As users went to log in to Facebook, a message in a pink box appeared stating that the site was experiencing  an outage “for required maintenance.”

The message also stated that it would be back in few moments and thanked the user for patience as they “improve the site.”
