Submerged SUV with body inside belongs to missing Belle Isle mother, police say

Stephanie Hollingsworth’s 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe was found underwater in a Lake Nona retention pond on Saturday, OPD confirms.

LAKE NONA, Fla. — After a third week searching for a missing Belle Isle mother, Orlando Police confirm the car she was last seen driving was recovered Saturday night from a Lake Nona retention pond.

OPD says that a body found inside of the vehicle may be 50 y/o Stephanie Hollingsworth, spotted most recently on surveillance footage at the Walmart on 5991 S Goldenrod Road Sept. 25, the day she disappeared.

Hollingsworth’s SUV was discovered by volunteer drone pilots hovering above a retention pond near Story Time Dr and Dowden Road in Lake Nona, according to police.

The victim’s identity has not been confirmed at the time of this report.
