Tropical Storm Bonnie develops over Caribbean Sea

Tropical Storm Bonnie has developed over the Caribbean Sea.

The storm system is moving across the southwestern Caribbean Sea on Friday. It is expected to cross southern Nicaragua or northern Costa Rica tonight. Then, it will emerge over the eastern Pacific Ocean on Saturday.

If it hangs together over Nicaragua, it will keep the name Bonnie while in the Pacific.

Heavy rain is expected to cause flash flooding and mudslides in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Meteorologists are also watching two other disturbances in the Atlantic basin. Neither system is expected to develop further.
