Two people shot at Palm Beach County High School Football game

The Palm Beach County Sheriffs office confirms two people were shot at a football game between Palm Beach Central and William T. Dwyer high schools.

A group of students “got into an altercation” which led to the shots, Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. There is still no word on if the shooter was taken into custody

Witnesses say the football teams on the field and people in the stadium were evacuated immediately.

Gunfire was reported during a football scrimmage at Palm Beach Central High School in Wellington Friday night.

There has yet to be confirmation of any injuries, but the Palm Beach Post Newspaper is reporting that a helicopter landed on the field, and a man was being treated on the track that surrounds the football field.

The shooting interrupted a practice game between Palm Beach Central High in Wellington and William T. Dwyer High School from Palm Beach Gardens.
