Let’s just pretend that didn’t happen.
The buyer of what was supposedly Tom Brady’s last touchdown ball, a 55-yard throw to wide receiver Mike Evans against the L.A. Rams last season, won’t have to hand over $518,000 anymore.
Brady announced his retirement from Tampa Bay on February 1.
The ball sold for $518,628 on March 12 --- then Brady’s unretirement happened less than 24 hours later.
Luckily for the anonymous collector, a mutual agreement between the buyer, seller, and auction house has voided the sale.
