Outrage after fraternity forces a dog to drink from beer keg

People are calling for some serious punishment after a video circulated of a chapter of a New York university fraternity tipping a dog upside and forcing it to drink from a beer keg.

The dog was owned by one of the fraternity members.

The video, which has gathered more than 100,000 views, shows members of the Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter forcing a squirming spaniel to drink beer.

“So apparently it’s okay to force dogs to drink beer even though it can kill them????  pls do better,” one Twitter user wrote, tagging Hofstra University and PETA.

In the background, party-goers can be heard cheering and yelling “let’s go.”

The University has launched an investigation, calling the actions 'unacceptable.'

Meanwhile Alpha Epsilon Pi, a fraternity with over 90 chapters in seven countries, has put this chapter on a ‘cease and desist’ citing likely violating health and safety policies.

They continued in a statement, "During this investigatory period, there can be no chapter activities. We hope that we are able to use this as a teaching moment to help build better young men who are committed to our policies and our mission of developing the future leaders of the world’s Jewish communities."

Thankfully, the dog is doing okay and is currently being kept by the Nassau Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
